Avenue P and 32nd Street Brooklyn
April 9, 2013

This is one of the (left) set of a work glove that is sold in dollar stores as well as hardware stores. The red is a light coating of a rubbery plastic material that increases the traction of the glove when used to lift something up. Or when putting something down after lifting it up. Come to think of it you could use it to move something from one shelf to another both at the same height and then you might not be lifting up or putting down. Just gripping and moving. Or, maybe, you had your hand out with these gloves on and a box just appeared in your hands. Then you might just be putting it down but you did not pick it up. Of course, as I contemplate, it could just appear and then disappear in your hands and then you would have just been holding it without picking it up or putting it down.

I found this single glove at the northeast corner of 32nd Street and Avenue P in Brooklyn. There was some construction of a minor sort going on and it is reasonable to assume that a workman from the site lost it. Or not. Maybe someone was redoing a basement. Or an attic. Maybe someone thought the white and red was a spiffy combination. I have no idea.

I believe....(that every drop of rain that falls........)..no...I believe that I will find more of this sort of glove than any other sort of glove because they are used very often and they cheap.

But what do I know. I supported Eugene McCarthy.
